Aerial Journey
I started preforming aerial silks six years ago.
I found this magical outlet of creativity whenI was at envision festival. This is where I tried silks for the first time. As my body was held and wrapped (even though I didn’t know what I was doing) in the fabrics, I just knew it was where I was supposed to be. I started my journey of taking classes/training and my mentor told me I was a natural. She promptly got me on stage and supported my growth into a performance artist. I then traveled to Indonesia where I joined a circus and lived in residency. That experience really catapulted me into myself as a performer. As I became an aerial arts teacher, after taking courses and certifications and performing at multiple big festival’s like Envision. I fell in love even deeper with the arts. Showing someone how to use their body in new ways, unlock tissue memories (stored trauma), release stagnant energy, & experience new pleasure domains they have never felt before. Seeing how beautiful the process of “I could never do that to “I’m doing it!” is. After getting a certification in Aerial Yoga, I started exploring how I could teach a therapeutic class. I wanted to use this practice as medicine for rehabilitation and recovery in the body. It has been a beautiful jounrey of discoery
